    Heartland Women is a newspaper based in Southern Illinois that is published by and for women of the Heartland. It is published twice a month - the first and middle of each month.
    Each issue is FREE, and is distributed throughout the Heartland at numerous locations.
    Heartland Women started as a dream that an area mother and daughter shared - to entertain, enlighten and empower women of the Heartland. Using their combined years of experience as journalists, the mother and daughter team - Chanda Green and Dalus Kulich - started Heartland Women newspaper in late 2004.

    All proceeds of this event will go to the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life in Murphysboro.
    The Top Dog will be named on March 20 at 2 p.m. after the St. Patrick’s Day parade and kids’ festival at the Kiwanis Pavilion in Riverside Park in Murphysboro.
    The deadline for entries is Jan. 31.
